Five, four, three, two, one ... Happy New Year! Locals and visitors across Cape Town will be celebrating the dawn of 2020 on the evening of 31 December, but not on the summit of Table Mountain. The Cableway will not be open for New Year’s Eve midnight celebrations.

We know it sucks, but – because of the unpredictability of the weather – we cannot guarantee that we will be operational and would not want to ruin your plans.

You can, however, still enjoy the final sunset of 2019 with a glass of bubbly at our Terrace Café or Wi-Fi Lounge, taking in the spectacular views of the Mother City.

Note that the last cable car down on 31 December 2019 will be at 9.30pm.
